Clinics & Services
It is very important for all women over 25 years of age to have cervical smears. This is a test to detect changes in the cervix, which may, in years to come, lead to cancer. These changes can easily be treated and so prevent cancer from developing. Please talk to the doctor or nurse if you have any queries or worries about the test.
Child Health Clinic
These run on Wednesday and Thursday between 1 pm and 3.30 pm. The health visitors attached to the practice run the child health clinic. It is a ‘drop-in’ clinic to see the health visitor or practice nurse for immunisations. You will be sent an appointment when your child is due a 6 week, 8-10 months or 27 month check by either the doctor or the health visitors. Parents can bring their under 5s to be weighed, have immunisations or for general advice on child care. This is a ‘well baby’ clinic and children who are unwell SHOULD see the doctor at an appointment rather than come to this clinic. They will not be able to see a doctor for their illness at this clinic.
We offer full antenatal care to all our pregnant patients. Women attending the practice will be seen by a doctor from the Practice. The Antenatal Clinic is by appointment only.
Asthma / Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
We offer an annual Asthma Review with one of our Practice Nurses. Patients will be invited to attend.
We offer family planning services including pill checks and coil and contraceptive implant fittings and removals.
Sexual health Screening
We offer full sexual health screening, you can book in with Freya, our sexual health nurse for an appointment.
This is a special clinic for our patients who have diabetes. Patients will be seen by the practice nurse, the doctor and a dietician if necessary. The diabetic clinic is by appointment only and you will be invited to attend as necessary. Two weeks prior to the clinic you will be asked to come into the practice for blood tests.
Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) Clinic
This is a special clinic for our patients with CHD. Patients with a history of heart attack and/or angina will be seen by for an annual review. The CHD clinic is by appointment only and you will be invited to attend as necessary. Two weeks prior to the clinic you will be asked to come into the practice for blood tests.
We offer a full health check to all new patients registering with the practice. Our Health Care Assistant takes a medical history and checks your height, weight, blood pressure and urine. A blood test may be offered if necessary. Patients already registered may be offered a Health Check if they have not been seen in the last 5 years.
This is a clinic for our patients with high blood pressure. It is by appointment only, with a Practice Nurse or pharmacist.
This service is available to registered patients who require treatment for minor ailments such as thrush, conjunctivitis, constipation, sore throats, diarrhoea, headache, back pain and more. Once registered you can attend a participating pharmacy that can, if appropriate, issue medication for the condition. To find out how to register, please speak to our receptionist.
